i recently had a boil under my arm lanced and it was positive for MRSA. It went away after antibiotics, I use Hibiclens soap daily but I have heard once you have MRSA, you have it for life. I’m terrified and paranoid. Help

I am glad you are better after it was lanced! The antibiotic of course added to the process of cure, but the drainage is always the key! If this was the first episode, do as you are doing, be vigilant with your hygiene and see a doctor EARLY on recurrence, start early antibiotics and hot compresses, sometimes you can avoid another I and D. At that point you may want to have a nasal culture performed, and/or use Bactroban ointment intranasally as that is where the MRSA most commonly resides…hope this helps!
